As a lecturer in SMU and a PhD graduated from Shanghai International Studies University, Lei Guo has once served as the chief director of College English Teaching faculty. From August 2014 to August 2015, she has served as a visiting scholar at the English Department in University of Delaware (US). Her research interests include Multimodal Discourse Analysis, Pragmatics, Adaptation Studies, Film Theories, and Film Teaching and so on. She has published four papers and two textbooks as the chief editor. She has hosted and finished a researching program on Art Teaching under the sponsorship of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education.  

During her working in SMU, she has won prizes like the “Excellent Award of College Teaching” and the third prize of “Liu Hao-qing Prominent Teacher”.

The courses she recently teaches for undergraduate students are “College English”, “Phonetics” and “Western Culture Studies and English Movies Appreciation”, which has won the “Liberal Education Model Course of SMU” in 2013.
