In the afternoon of December 21, the 2018 undergraduate Party branch of the College of Foreign Languages held the oath-taking activity for newly developed Party members in the lecture hall of the Foreign Language Building. Counselor and Party branch secretary Su Haowen presided over the event, and Ouyang Shu, a member of the College’s Party Committee and organizer, attended, with the newly developed Party members of the branch participating.
The swearing-in ceremony started with the stirring International Anthem and 24 newly developed Party members, led by Mr. Ouyang Shu, raised their right hands with fists over their shoulders and made a solemn oath facing the Party flag, expressing their excitement to join the Party and their solemn commitment as a new Party member.
Wang Peidong, a 2018 undergraduate student, spoke as a representative of the newly developed Party members. In his speech, he expressed that he would strictly require himself with the standard of Party members in the future, and would not forget his original intention and remember his mission.
Mr. Ouyang Shu congratulated all the students for their honorable induction into the Party, and at the same time, he made three requirements to the reserve party members: to strictly require themselves with higher standards, to study political theories, to improve their political quality, and to join the Party ideologically. In major occasions and critical moments, they should remember their membership, resist all forms of inappropriate speech, and play their role as Party members.
Su Haowen welcomed the new Party members and hoped that all of them would improve their Party spirit, strengthen their ideals and beliefs, and form a positive interaction between the Party spirit and the school spirit.
The oath-taking ceremony is a profound party education, which is conducive to cultivating the Party spirit of new Party members, strengthening their sense of responsibility, and inspiring them to practice their Party oath for life and strive for the Party cause.
