On March 6, in order to further commemorate and inherit the spirit of Lei Feng and give full play to the pioneering role of Party members, the 2017 undergraduate branch of the Party carried out an online theme day activity of Learning Lei Feng Day and Youth Volunteer Day on the WeChat platform. The activity was hosted by branch secretary Heng Shanshan, and 37 student members participated online.
At the beginning of the online activity, the student members of the branch watched videos of the advanced deeds of the pandemic prevention and control volunteers transferred by the secretary of the branch from the platform. The videos introduced the initiator of the Guardian Angel Volunteer Team, Yang Xue, a post-90s girl who transferred donated materials. During the pandemic prevention and control period, she and a group of volunteers volunteered to transport the soldiers in white, transfer supplies, and guard their city; Wang Huajun, a representative of the 19th National Congress of the Party, a driver of Yichang Kanglong Taxi Company in Hubei Province and the captain of the Thunderbolt Team, organized a group of enthusiastic cab drivers to transport front-line medical workers free of charge every day when the pandemic battle was first fought.
After watching the video, the student party members expressed their feelings: Volunteers need a selfless and courageous heart to go forward. Their deeds tell us that as long as we are united and work together, spring will always come. Volunteerism needs to be passed on by every one of us together. The volunteers' spirit of service and dedication is worthy of each of us to learn and pass on!
After that, the branch secretary Heng Shanshan made a summary and put forward requirements, she stressed that March 5 is the 57th Learning Lei Feng Activity Day and the 21st Chinese Youth Volunteer Service Day. In this distinctive spring, volunteers from all walks of life joined the front line of the fight against pandemics, practicing the spirit of Lei Feng with practical actions. All party members should follow their example, carry forward the positive energy of the times, abide by the discipline of prevention and control work during the pandemic, and actively play a pioneering role as a party member.
The student party members expressed that they should continue to practice the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, study technical knowledge, develop excellent skills, refine moral character, and show the mission and responsibility of a party member in the face of pandemic prevention and control.
