On the morning of July 2, 2019, the language preparatory course (PSE Bridge English Course) held by our school in cooperation with the University of Portsmouth, U.K. The PSE Bridge English Course is to provide English training for Chinese students who have been pre-admitted to the University of Portsmouth but whose IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores do not meet the entry requirements, and students do not need to take the After completing the relevant language course and passing the test, students can be admitted to the University of Portsmouth in the UK without taking the IELTS test. This is the fourth year that the program has been held at the University since the summer of 2016, and the number of students has increased from 31 at the beginning to more than 80 today. Today is the opening ceremony of the 10-week class, and another 6-week class will start on July 19.
The opening ceremony was attended by Party Secretary and Acting Dean Zhu Yaobin, Director of the University of Portsmouth China Office Jia Ning, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Program of the School of Foreign Languages Li Fang, the PSE project management team, PSE teachers, and all the students of the 10-week class. Secretary Zhu Yaobin and Ms. Jia Ning sent their messages one after another. Secretary Zhu briefly introduced the history of our university and our college, welcomed the students from all over the world to attend the PSE course, instructed them to be strict in the learning process, and expected each student to come as you are and study hard. Ms. Jia explained the importance of the PSE course and looked forward to seeing the students again at the University of Portsmouth in September.
