On the evening of May 4, the 2019 Spring Level II Party Class (the 29th total) of the College of Foreign Languages started and held the first and second lectures. Qian Minfang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College, and Ouyang Shu, member of the Party Committee and Party building counselor, taught the class respectively, and party activists from all grades attended.
Mr. Ouyang Shu gave a lecture on the topic of Party Membership Development Procedures and Basic Document Writing in the lecture hall of Foreign Language Building. Mr. Ouyang Shu explained the course schedule and requirements of this session, introduced the overview of student party building work in the School of Foreign Languages, and then explained in detail the requirements of each step of party membership development and the specific requirements of writing party building documents such as application forms and thought reports. Finally, combining with the specific examples in the development of university students, Mr. Ouyang Shu emphasized again the seriousness of the development of party members and asked them to always be strict with themselves, develop themselves comprehensively, enhance their political awareness, play a leading role as party activists, and strive to join the party organization as soon as possible.
After that, Ms. Qian Minfang gave a lecture on the topic of Exploring Political Literacy of Young Students in Room 108 of Foreign Language Building. Starting from the May Fourth Movement, Mr. Qian analyzed the internal and external problems of Chinese society 100 years ago and told the story of young students' patriotism and pursuit of truth. Combining with the current economic and social development in China and the new situation of international competition, Mr. Qian called on the students to actively study political theories, care about current affairs, guide the classroom and academic style, keep the bottom line of campus safety and stability, and be brave to face the reality and difficulties in life and be a strong person in life. During the lecture, Ms. Qian Minfang also conveyed the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech at the conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of the May Fourth Movement, and once again emphasized that college students should improve their political quality and self-cultivation, be self-disciplined and self-improvement, and bear the burden of the times.
In order to enhance the political and effective education of the party activists, this party class of the College of Foreign Languages takes the improvement of political literacy as the core, arranges discussions, visits and knowledge competitions, enriches the content of the party class and innovates the form of the party class in order to further improve the quality of the cultivation and development of party members.
