The 9th National Symposium on Language Education was held in Jiangxi Normal University from December 14 to 16, 2018. Professor Liu Guohui from the School of Foreign Languages was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the conference on An empirical study of the lexical positioning of English transcripts and their application trends and acted as a reviewer in the breakout sessions.
The symposium was sponsored by the Chinese Language Education Research Association and organized by the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangxi Normal University. The Chinese Language Education Research Association is a non-profit academic organization organized by scholars engaged in language teaching, translation and basic language research in China. Since its establishment in April 2010, it has held a number of large-scale, high-profile national or international academic seminars at well-known universities in China, including Sichuan Foreign Language University, Nanjing Normal University and Shanghai Jiaotong University. In addition to scholars from famous universities in China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, scholars from more than ten countries or regions, such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, have also attended the conference. As an academic organization with wide international influence, the symposiums sponsored by the Society have become an important window to showcase the overall level of language education research in China.
Professor Liu Guohui's keynote speech at the conference was highly recognized by his peers in the field, and his participation in the conference well demonstrated the academic strength of the school in the relevant fields and played a positive role in improving the social influence of the school.
