In the afternoon of November 7, the College of Foreign Languages held a meeting to learn and convey the spirit of the National Education Conference, with Party Secretary Zhu Yaobin presiding and speaking, and all teachers of the College attending.
At the meeting, Secretary Zhu Yaobin firstly introduced the background, time and main agenda of the National Education Conference, and focused on the speech of Xi Jinping and other Party and State leaders to convey the study. Secretary Zhu Yaobin pointed out that the nine insistences put forward by the General Secretary in his speech are the concentrated embodiment of a series of new concepts, ideas and views put forward in the practice of education reform and development, which need to be seriously studied and practiced by the majority of educators. He also pointed out that the conference once again emphasized the importance of strengthening students' ideological and political work, attaching importance to students' ideological leadership, improving students' comprehensive quality, and cultivating socialist builders and successors with comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor, and also pointed out that the conference once again emphasized the need to strengthen the Party's overall leadership of education and adhere to correct political orientation.
During the meeting, Secretary Zhu also introduced the latest trends of Shanghai regarding the reform and development of education work and the meeting of our school to study and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference, and asked all teachers to study the spirit of the National Education Conference seriously, combine with their own work, focus on talent cultivation, and let the spirit of the Conference fall into small details and be put into practice.
After the meeting, the college held a meeting with the leadership team, department directors and branch secretaries, asking the departments and branches to take the spirit of the National Education Conference as a guide, focusing on the development strategy of Shanghai, focusing on the characteristics of the school and the general situation of development, organizing the learning activities of the spirit of the National Education Conference at the same time, better planning and better development of the teaching and research work of the departments and branches.
