On January 21, Chinses New Year party was successfully held in Lin-gang Campus. Mr. Song Baoru, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, Mr. Li Zhipeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, Mr. Zhang Daobing, Director of the Student Affairs Office, Mr. Liang Liang, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Logistics Center, Mr. Tang Jianxin, Director of the Security Office, Ms. Zhang Yan, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, Mr. Gao Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Merchant Marine, and Mr. Sun Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Information Engineering, came to the activity and send their best wishes for the New Year.
The event was sponsored by the Student Affairs Office and the University Youth League Committee, and organized by the Youth League Committee of the College of Foreign Languages with the support of the Logistics Center. Students and faculty members wrote Chinese New Year couplets, put up window flowers, set circles and made dumplings, and gathered together to have fun and start a new year chapter.
Students rolled up their sleeves and shared different ways of making dumplings. In a short time, each dumpling was made with their own personalized hands. Everyone tasted the fruits of their labor. With a bowl of hot dumplings in their hands, the students expressed that they had a taste of home and that they would have good luck in the Year of the Rabbit with the dumplings they had made.
The leaders of the school presented the New Year's greetings to the students who stayed in school and wished them good luck in the New Year. The students expressed their gratitude for the school's concern and felt the warmth of the SMU family.
